Views on Learning

When I began school more than a many years ago, I never "discovered [my] own learning styles." I still don't know what my learning style is. And it doesn't seem to have slowed me down as far as learning is concerned. When I think about the activities in which I engaged: studying various "book". But now scenario has changed. Instead of teacher centered learning the learning becomes student centered.

Student-centered learning (also called child-centered learning) is an approach to education focusing on the needs of the students, rather than those of others involved in the educational process, such as teachers and administrators. This approach has many implications for the design of curriculum, course content, and interactivity of courses

Student-centered learning is focused on the student's needs, abilities, interests, and learning styles with the teacher as a facilitator of learning. This classroom teaching method acknowledges student voice as central to the learning experience for every learner. Teacher-centered learning has the teacher at its centre in an active role and students in a passive, receptive role. Student-centered learning requires students to be active, responsible participants in their own learning.

Teachers wishing to ensure a student-centered approach must know their students and their backgrounds in order to help them develop appropriately. Clearly there are cultural and personal issues to be addressed, as student-centered learning will be different for each group Involvement and participation are necessary for learning.

The relationship between learners is more equal, promoting growth, development the teacher becomes a facilitator and resource person.

My Views on Mathematics
It is a broad, abstract subject that involved critical thinking and was a bit like learning a new language. I think math’s as complex and tough to understand, requiring step-by-step working in solving problems and investigational activities. I feel to calculate something accuracy in math’s difficult and it is time consuming. This is the fact that not all the content could be applied to real life, and the importance of trial and error methods.
My friends who are in group for them mathematics is a challenging subject, requiring concentration, familiarization with its formulas and symbols, and a lot of hard work because of its hierarchy of concepts. This group saw math’s as time consuming compared to other subjects, and particularly dependent on good teaching. They mentioned difficulty they had in understanding the topics and preparing for exams. However this group also mentioned the possibility of solving a variety of world problems by learning to translate words into mathematical expressions and emphasized that when basic concepts were understood learning became easier.
This is for the first time we are applying mathematics in a real life situation to calculate the nutrients present in the diet.

In the project class is divided into 6 groups. As my weight and height does not match with other students so madam suggested to do this activity individually.The calculations are simple applying simply unitary method like 1 chappatti = 20 gms then
3
chappatti = 3X20=60 gms This is how I have calculated the amount of carbohydrates, proteins and fats in my diet and then I took an average of seven days.

My findings are average carbohydrate= 250gms/day
Protein=75gms/day
Fat=150gms/day
After doing calculations now I am very comfortable with unitary method which is used in daily life.

Using computer technology

I was using internet in chatting collecting images, orkut, downloading songs, pictures but never used it for project making While doing this venture I came to know that one of the most compelling aspects of the Web, for young and old alike, is its interactivity. Students can practice their skills, test their knowledge, or contribute their work using one of the many interactive sites

Teachers and students can communicate with their peers from around the world. The most widely used part of the Web is E-mail but also audio and video conferencing are becoming quite popular.
Many online newsletters and Web sites are designed for the express purpose of encouraging students to express their feeling in terms of words. Students can send in their creative writings and see their work in print. Enhance the learning experience through telecollaborative projects. Join an ongoing project or learn to design your own.

I want to share a table showing How to convert raw food items into exchanges drom internet.
